Everything from shirts and soap to tables and tape are made in China. Almost everything we touch seems be stamped in tiny letters with “made in China.” With most products being made overseas the price of these goods are condensable lower then if they were made elsewhere but Americans are losing out on jobs. According to the U.S. Department of Labor unemployment rate has gone up to 6.5% this means that 10.1 million Americans don’t have a job. We are now left with the question of low product prices or more American jobs.

I love Michael Moore’s movies and the sort of dark ironic humor in it. Bowling for Columbine is a great example of this. I like how he mixes the serious with the ironic such was when a man from the NRA is saying how safe it is to have a guy but he can’t even buckle his belt. When people said the shootings at Columbine were due to rock music seemed outrages to me. I like how the point that the thing the two boys were doing before the attacks was bowling and that was the real cause. Both of these reasons must be taken with a grain of salt.

A report by the United Nations is calling for China to clean up their act. The study showed that Atmospheric Brown Clouds, a mix of “soot, smog and toxic chemicals”, are covering most of China. The Clouds are having damaging effects not only on the people but also the land and global weather. The Atmospheric Brown Clouds are causing the death of many people and plants. The Clouds since the 1970s sunlight has dropped as much as 20 percent in China and this has caused crop production to drop. The Clouds that can be seen from airplanes and can be as thick as a mile is said to be reducing the rain in India and Southeast Asia while increasing it in central China. For me this is all just one more reason why China and the rest of the world need to look for cleaner fuels and ways of reducing pollution. To read more go here.

1. when you are taking a test in class and there is some kid breathing really loud

2. when people say “not to be mean but…” then say something totally mean

3. when people are raciest

4. when people bike in the middle of the road and you almost hit them and they look at you like it is somehow your fault but they are the ones in the road not the side walk

5. when I am reading and someone won’t leave me be

6. when people touch my neck

7. when people keep going back to relationships that are toxics for them and they know it

8. when you make plans with you and are over fifteen minutes late

9. when I get woken up

10. when you take a shower and there is a huge ball of hair, not yours, at the bottom of the shower

Many firsts have happened yesterday. It was the first time I voted. The first time such a large youth vote has turned out and now we have the first African American President Elect. Today is the time of change. In a yahoo news article Nelson Mandela is quoted in a letter to Obama “Your victory has demonstrated that no person anywhere in the world should not dare to dream of wanting to change the world for a better place.” In a time where our economy is doing poorly and our actions in other countries are not seen in a good light this new face of change could not have come at a better time. We now have the leader in place to change our lives as we know them for the better.

I like to debate but when I do it most of the time I get to into it. I end up saying things like “no your wrong!” or “just listen to me I’m right!” and have no way of supporting it. I debate best one on one instead of in class. When debating in class I tend to hold my opinions to myself for fear of being wrong but once I’m out there look out!

College is hard. Don’t let anyone tell you different and don’t say I didn’t tell you. In high school I would kind of do my homework, never study, and barely listen in class. I got B’s without even trying so I thought that if I listened, did my homework and studied my butt off, I would do great in college. Wrong! College is rough. I feel like all I do so go to class and study, not even sleep. Now I am learning all kind of things. I know how to use a comma (well kind of), how Rome was built and how to make clay, but I am also learning things I didn’t want to I now know that one can go on a few hours of sleep (well kind of) and how to study for test the night before at 3 am. I guess what I’m trying to say is that here you can’t just slide by anymore. You need to work hard now. I was only told that college was “nothing like high school” or that “you will have fun.” Never how hard it would be and I just wish someone would let me know.

I would just like to say that having to write about you ideal mate is dumb. I mean I’m eighteen, and I don’t even know what my ideal breakfast is tomorrow yet alone who I’m going to marry. I guess what I’m trying to say is that I just don’t know how I want. I do know what I don’t what. I don’t want someone who cheats on me; I don’t like to share so why should a boyfriend be any different? I also know that he has to be taller than me. I have this weird complex about being tall, I never wear heels, so him being taller than me would just not work out. I’m smart so my guy can’t talk down to me. There are some things I do know that I want. I am a princess and treat me like it, but sometimes I like to get dirty and play outside. I want to feel loved and cared for.

my room

I love to sleep and the best place to do that is in my room. It is a great dark blue with only one window, so it gets very dark and that’s good for sleeping. I have a twin bed along the wall opposite of my window. Twin beds are small and my feet do hang off the end but they are very cozy. My bed has a down comforter over and under me so it’s like sleeping on a nice warm cloud. My room is cold, well, our whole house is cold. My bed is the one warm place in my house. My room smells like dryer sheets, feet, and lavender. It’s a good mix. Most of the time my room is dead quiet, unless my cat is in there. If he is in my room then you can hear him wheezing or purring. I have cream plush carpet, but you can’t see it because I have tons of cloths on the floor.
